Whenever the time may be for you to purchase or lease a new vehicle, keep this information in mind. You might want to give more consideration to a car manufactured by an American-owned and / or American based company. Apart from Hyundai and Volkswagen, the foreign car companies contributed nothing at all to the citizens of the United States … It’s OK for these companies to take money out of this country, but it is apparently not acceptable to return some in a time of crisis. I believe we should not forget things like this. Say thank you in a way that gets their attention.

interesting, glad to say that with the exception of a Hyundai a few years ago, I have only had US nameplates. Currently we have two Saturn (GM) cars
You are correct. After the original article appeared, many automakers donated to charities. Also, some of the automakers set up contirbution programs through employee sponsored programs. Some of the companies listed on the snopes link only gave minimal amounts.
With all due respect, since you have already noted the error which I have acknowledged, readers will see the correction. I have a suggestion for you, how about you taking down that right wing trash on your blog about the benefits of torture and blaming Clinton for the mistakes of Bush. While you are at it, you could delete that horrible picture of the guy that got his head cut off by terrorists that you are using to justify torture and your pathetic position. If none of that works for you, I wont ask you to take down your articles if you dont ask me to take down mine. The way I see it, my mistake is alot less harmful than the plethora of misleading lies that appear in most of your articles. Your right wing friends seem to love it. I admire you for catering to your audience, but sometimes the truth must prevail. Bush as head of the country, had every opportunity to fix the state department, and the intel agencies, but instead chose to appoint people he and Cheney could manipulate into their jaded way of thinking. I see you drank plenty of the Kool aid, too.
Because we do not know if there would have been terrorists attacks had Bush not taken those terrible actions, one can not say definitively whether or not the results would have been the same. There simply is no comparison model. I can say definitively though, that good will, and our reputation suffered horrendously because of Bush’s foriegn policy. We became the most hated country on the planet, and that I do not think that can be debated by any sane person.
On a side note, this blog is a very dangerous place to express your satisfaction about the Bush policies. I respect your opinion because it is those types of opinions that make this blog a great place of debate. Just be prepared to defend you position.
Why is it the responsibility of auto manufactures to donate money for 9/11 victims? Such donations are PR. Why shouldn’t it be the responsibility of the US government to compensate the victim’s families? After all it was the US government who ignored information that could have stopped the attacks. I mean really more than 100,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed as a result of US actions in that country. Do we have a responsibility to donate to their families because our tax dollars paid for the killing of their loved ones? The US lost about 3,000 citizens in the 9/11 attacks that is a fraction of the civilians the US has killed in Iraq, our forces have also killed well more than 3,000 civilians in Afghanistan. Think about that the next time you pay your taxes. Holding auto manufacture’s responsible to donate money to 9/11 victims families makes no sense to me. Sure it’s a sweet gesture when or if they do, but if they don’t, so what. People buy cars based on what suits their needs, the quality of the car and style, on what basis is it legitimate demand charity from the companies? Or why would you decided which car is best based on which company gave money to victims families of 9/11. I totally don’t get this.
