Obama Will Be The Best President Ever!
Whenever crisis has appeared, the greatness of America has always come out. President Obama, having been in office for just over 2 months, has stepped up to the challenge and is delivering results. Forget those conservatives who never like any plan. Forget those republicans who cant seem to get a leader or an agenda. The general public and politicians have at least one thing in common, they criticize every politician whether they are right or wrong. Because of the times we face, Obama continues to try and unite people. You dont have to like every plan, but you sure have to like the fact this guy is doing something. He is attempting to bring us out. All the criticism about Obama and Geithner too is undeserved. Both of these guys are technically still in their probationary periods. Even the crumiest of jobs gives someone 90 days to wash out. If this country doesnt change, we are going down. All the negativity and unbelief will lead to a self fulfilling prophecy. Everyday there is nothing more than critics dotting the airways. It is unprecedented, and unfair. We must always remember how we got to where we are-Bush Policies. Obama will have his chance whether or not anyone likes it, and he will make the most of it by becoming the greatest president ever.
I really do hope you’re right..
With all due respect, when a president tells us that he reserves the right to detain people with out charge or trial. It’s hard for me to feel good about him. Now, I am impressed with his stage presence. He is a stand up guy. He takes the rap for what he does. I like him better than any president I have seen in my lifetime. (as a person) but his ability to conduct himself with impressive decorum and grace is not the same as respecting human rights. And to increase the troop levels in Afghanistan is to commit to more civilan casualties. And that matters to me. I think killing people is morally repugnant regardless of how well the person doing it presents themself.
Dsent, Are you referring to Bush? Obama still proclaims the Geneva Convention in his beliefs. As far as Afghanistan goes, it is an unwinnable war. We really don’t have clear cut goals there, but I challenge you on this; what would you have us do, just pack up and leave? In war there is always going to be the loss of innocent lives. Are you for bringing the troops home and setting up some type of military state of the union? Or perhaps you think it is okay to just let the radicals take over Afghanistan and Pakistan while practicing their hatred on the people who live there. The people of those countries dont even want them there.
President Bush did not violate the Geneva Convention. And Obama wants to put troops in Afghanistan, not Bush. And you whole defense to the war, is clearly AGAINST Obama. Obama wants a time-table of when to draw troops out. That’s packing up and leaving.
Obama wants to close a prison that has terrorists that have killed United States soliders. That should not be closed. Promising that on the campaign trail because people liked it is not the best president ever. He said what he needed to say to get votes and now is backing out of his ever bold campaign lies.
