I am the Junior Senator from Illinois!!Just You Wait and See!
Today, the junior senator elect from Illinois arrived in the Capital to be seated among those who do not want to sit next to him. It seems Roland Burris has taken on the form of the smelly little kid in first grade who still pee’s his pants.
No one wants to be seated by him, and no one wants to play with him.
The stench of Burris can only be attributed to his appointer, the Guberner of Illinois, Rod Blago. It seems the taint of the Governor, according to Harry Reid, has followed Burris all the way from Chicago to Washington.
And quite simply, until Burris changes his pants, no one is going to want to be bothered.
What must he do to change his pants? Sign a decree saying he will not do it again. One may ask ” what does he have to do to play with the other kids?” He has to sign the paper that Reid and Pelosi had drawn up on the day Burris was appointed. That paper invokes Burris not to seek election when this present term is over.
After all, the real reason Reid doesn’t want to sit next to Burris is because Burris appears to be a loser. No kid in first grade hangs out with a loser. If you do, then you also are a loser. Right?
Burris, for his part has lost at least four notable fights (campaigns) and may appear to be a wuss.
For Reids part, he is the bully in first grade who happens to use his brain to outfox his other classmates. The problem is there is always one kid smarter than everyone else and maybe sinister too. That kid happens to be Blago.
Blago studied the rules, found a loophole, and told Reid he wasn’t going to play ball. In fact Blago took the Ball and left the playground, leaving Reid, Pelosi, and Burris to settle their differences one way or another. Where is Blago? He is in time out, unable to play anymore after getting in one last good shot.
Seeing how no past precedent exists, Burris will get in by default of the rule book. If no rule exist, Reid, to his chagrin, wont be able to manufacture or grandfather clause one in. Too bad. Maybe next time, Harry.
Burris’ proclamation ” I am the Junior Senator from Illinois” is the inevitable culmination of Blago teaching the playground bully a lesson. Sort of like “I am king of the Hill.”
